The Blackjack Strategy Chart – read it, learn it, use it!
As the chart is the most important part, explanation at the bottom of the page
This chart is for 4-8 decks, stand on soft 17, cannot double after split and no surrender
There are many different theories when it comes to blackjack – hot and cold decks, intuition, betting system or magic. I am not going to argue with anyone on how they want to play the game, but I will put my opinion forward. Using blackjack strategy is a proven way to limit the houses advantage when utilising correct strategy over time. Unless you have Dustin Hoffman by your side, the casino will always have an edge but limiting that edge is the key!
The house edge is determined by the rules of the game and with blackjack can vary from 0.5% and up. Using the above strategy chart puts the house edge at 0.6072%. As far as casino gambling goes, that is pretty damn good! This is why I play blackjack
As I mentioned, there is always a house edge and there is no way to get around that. I have been on winning runs of 20+ hands but I have also been on the flipside with massive losing streaks. This is why discipline, brains and self-control are super important if you want to be the best player you can be.
A short story – I once had an incredible blackjack run, I was up $2000 playing relatively low stakes. I decided to test the old martingale theory. Doubling your bet every time you lose a hand. I had barely lost, everyone at the table was happy so, it was a sure thing. I think you can guess what happened. In 45 minutes that $2000 was gone and I was in another $500. This was the stupid me, I recall that only taking around 10 losses to clean me out. Since then I have been on losing streaks more than double that but the difference now is I manage both my risk and bankroll a hell of a lot better. Enough of my sob story haha but if this stops one person falling in the same trap, my job here is done. Strategy over time takes away the urges of blowing cash for the sake of it and means you’re more of a chance to build your bank.
